Three Lady Bengals named All-Americans

Three Lady Bengals were named to the 2016 National Fastpitch Coaches Association NJCAA Division II All-American teams. Rebecca Skains, Madison Edmonston, and Darby Bishop join players from 15 different institutions on the two squads.
Kirkwood Community College led all schools with five total All-Americans, while Des Moines Area Community College brought home four nods. Phoenix College and national champion Louisiana State University Eunice had four selections on the first team.
LSU Eunice's trio played an integral role in the Bengals' fourth national title.
Skains ranked third in the nation with a school-record 25 home runs, sixth with 83 RBI and 103 hits, and seventh with 82 runs scored.
She also led her team in slugging percentage at .944.
Bishop was seventh in the nation with 80 RBI and led the Bengals in batting average at .480. Bishop also added 95 hits, a .498 on base percentage, and 12 home runs.
Edmonston ranked sixth in the nation in stolen bases (44), seventh in runs scored (82), and ninth in hits (98).
She also led her team with a .535 on-base percentage.
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) is the professional growth organization for fastpitch softball coaches from all competitive levels of play.
Skains and Bishop were also named to the NJCAA Division II All-American softball team.
Skains was also named the NJCAA Divison II tournament MVP and Outstanding Offensive Player as she hit four home runs and had eight RBI over the five games LSUE played in the national tournament.
Bishop, Edmonston and Skains also earned All-Region 23 honors.LSUE catcher Hunter Feduccia tosses the ball back to the Bengal pitcher.
