Chief: Expect arrests soon in vehicle incidents

Staff Report

The pause button seems to have been hit on the wave of vehicle breakins and thefts in Eunice, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The incidents ended after Monday night, he said.
Extra patrols involving reserve officers were used Tuesday night with the result of three people being questioned, he said. Information developed from those interviews.
Arrest warrants are expected from the investigation, he said.
The target of the crime wave was unlocked vehicles, he said. No forced entries were found by police, he said.
The unlocked vehicles prompted repeated calls to the public by Fontenot urging residents to lock their vehicles.
