Church Point man arrested for multiple burglaries and felony thefts

Thefts committed in St. Landry Parish

A Church Point man was arrested Wednesday in connection with multiple burglaries and felony thefts committed in St. Landry Parish.
Jeremy Daigle of the 500 block Bourque Road in Church Point was a suspect in several crimes, and he was arrested on warrants with more stolen items by St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office detectives.
During his arrest, detectives noticed that additional stolen items were located in the backyard of the
residence where Daigle was arrested. While detectives questioned him, Daigle admitted to burglarizing other homes Tuesday evening. The detective division is working to identify the other homes, and Daigle will likely face additional charges.
Maj. Eddie Thibodeaux with St. Landry Crime Stoppers reported on the organization's Facebook page that burglary and theft arrest warrants had been issued for Daigle. Detectives and patrol deputies followed up leads on Daigle's whereabouts and arrested him without incident.
Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said in a news release his detectives are certain the arrest of Daigle will help solve multiple burglaries in the parish.
“The detectives and patrol sections work hard in investigating burglaries and thefts that occur in our parish but need your help," Guidroz said. "Property owners are reminded to record all serial numbers, take photographs of their property, and remember to lock up and keep their belongings out of sight. If property owners have this information, it will speed up the recovery and the identification of any recovered property.”
Daigle is in the St. Landry Parish Correctional Center for processing, and his bond has not yet been set.
