Crowley man killed on Interstate 10 in Acadia Parish

A four-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 east of Eagan killed 25-year-old Tremayne Leblanc of Crowley, a Louisiana State Police news release reported.
The wreck occurred about 9 a.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lane.
Leblanc was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry westbound on Interstate 10 near milepost 74 when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the median and entered the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10, the report stated.
As Leblanc’s vehicle entered the eastbound lanes, it struck a 2005 Volkswagen SUV, operated by 46-year-old Derick Kyere of Humble, Texas, the report stated. Leblanc’s vehicle continued to travel east, striking a 2013 International Tractor Trailer and 2016 Dodge Caravan, the report stated.
The tractor-trailer was being operated by Clarence Capps, 71, of Empire, Alabama, and the Dodge Caravan by Kevin Keele, 33, of Huntington, Texas, the report stated.
Despite the fact that he was properly restrained, Leblanc was pronounced dead on scene by the Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office representative. His passenger, Tyler Daigle, 25, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital, police report.
Derick Kyere was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries. Kyere refused medical treatment on scene, the report stated.
Clarence Capps was wearing a seat belt and sustained minor injuries, police stated. Capps was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Kevin Keele and his passenger, Jackie Hewitt, 44, of Lufkin, Texas, were wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries, the report stated. Both were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
It is not known if impairment is a factor in the crash; however routine toxicology samples were taken from Leblanc and sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis, the report stated. All other drivers were given a chemical test and found not to be impaired.
