Four Krotz Springs men arrested on drug charges

Four Krotz Springs men arrested were arrested by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office on drug charges Wednesday.
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said, “On May 18, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Narcotic Enforcement Team continued to execute warrants in St. Landry Parish after a series of undercover buys involving the distribution of crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and suboxone to undercover agents throughout the parish.”
Brandon Lee Ponthieux, 29, of the 500 block of 8th Street in Krotz Springs, was arrested on two charges of distribution of Schedule II methamphetamine, and his bond was set at $20,000, Guidroz said.
Michael Scott Polotzola, 34, of the 400 block of Division Road in Krotz Springs, was arrested on charges of distribution of Schedule III (suboxone), and his bond was set at $6,500, Guidroz said.
Cory Williamson, 34, of the 200 block of Island Home Road in Krotz Springs, was arrested a charge of distribution of Schedule III (suboxone), and his bond was set at $6,500, Guidroz said.
William Harold Anderson, 29, of the 500 block of Division Street in Krotz Springs, was arrested on a charge of distribution of Schedule III (marijuana), and his bond was set at $6,000, Guidroz said.
Agents received information that a small drug ring was being operated in the Krotz Springs area and sent in undercover agents in attempt to make illegal narcotic purchases. Agents were able to make several purchases from the ring for methamphetamine, suboxone, and marijuana, Guidroz said.
“Our narcotic agents receive anonymous calls on various illegal drug activity and investigate every case, sometimes it may take time to make an arrest but rest assured they are being investigated and if confirmed, arrests will be made," Guidroz said.
