Letter: 2nd Street cleanup noted

For the past two weeks volunteers from Keep Eunice Beautiful, the Bulb and Blossom Garden Club, and the Community Garden, with help from kids in the “Boot Camp” of the Juvenile Division of our police department have been cleaning up and planting on Second Street South and around the Ms. Eunice statue. The city got us planting soil and mulch. The Garden Club brought plants and sprayed for ants! I would like to thank all these folks for their donation of plants, time, and pride in our city.
Without the risk of leaving anyone out, thanks to Mayor Scott Fontenot and Paul Carrier, Sgt. Stephanie Myers, Erin and Buddy Jones, Joan McManus, Fran Guillory, Lynn Pavich, Becky and Jacque Pucheu, Kathy Manuel, ClaraBell McNaulty, Michael Robinson, and all the hardworking Boot Camp kids who spent their time cleaning up and beautifying our city.
Working together, caring for and respecting the place where we live — that is what it is all about. Change starts with us and we can lead by example. These folks were a very positive example of “Taking Pride and Keeping Eunice Beautiful.”
Thank you all,
Donna Baltakis, Director
