Mary Allison Williams celebrates 90th Birthday with family and friends

Mary Allison Williams celebrated her 90th birthday on July 4 at her home in Eunice with family and friends.
She enjoyed a luncheon of fried fish, crawfish etouffee, along with many side dishes, watermelon and a birthday cake.
Williams was presented a proclamation from the City of Eunice by Councilwoman Germaine Simpson, on behalf of Mayor Moody.
The former Mary Stevens was born on July 4, 1924 in Ville Platte to the late Camel Stevens and Victoria Stevens. She is the lone survivor of four siblings, Calvin Stevens, Hillary Stevens, Nerlin Stevens and Jessie Stevens.
Williams was married to the late Rev. Launey Allison and the late Rev. Edges Williams.
She is the mother of 11 children: Dorothy Miller of Beaumont, TX; Linus Allison (Wanda), Rogers Allison (Bettye), both of Eunice; Lena Allison-Bryant, Camell Ray Allison, Sr., Mary Ann Grant (George), Bonnie Dupre (Calvin), Cynthia Allison-Hynson, Jacquie’ Frelow (Kenneth), Angelia Allison and John Allison, all of Houston.
Williams is the grandmother of 19 and the great-grandmother of 13.
Williams in an active member of the Greater True Light Baptist Church in Eunice where she serves on the Deaconess Board.
She enjoys reading her Bible, listening to Gospel music, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys gardening and creating different home projects.
