‘Honor Our Heroes’ banquet held

A “Honor Our Heroes” banquet, sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Eunice and the city of Eunice, was held Thursday evening at the Northwest Center.
The banquet’s purpose and goal was to honor and pay tribute to hardworking men and women of Eunice’s law enforcement agencies. A large crowd of city law enforcement officials and their families filled the center.
Eunice policemen, city marshals, St. Landry Parish sheriffs, city councilmen and families, including their children, enjoyed an evening meal of jambalaya, prepared by Mayor Scott Fontenot, green salad, and a dessert provided by a local bakery.
Door prizes were donated by local businesses and individuals. The banquet was made possible by event sponsors and donations. Plans are to host the event annually.
Peter Vidrine of the Eunice Kiwanis, added, “These men and women of law enforcement are very important. They work hard day-in and day-out to protect us and our city. It’s time for us to give back, and appreciate all they do.”
Local community, city, government and state leaders, along with local pastors extended their gratitude and appreciation to Eunice’s law enforcements.
