James ‘“Donnie”’ Fontenot is announcing his candidacy for Eunice Ward 4 alderman in the March 5 election.
His announcement includes the following.
“I was born and raised in Eunice, and a graduate of Eunice High School in 1983.
“I joined the U.S. Navy in July of 1987 and served as a sonar technician surface operator, electronic technician, and supervisor serving on both U.S. coast’s and Hawaii. I served on three ships, completed Sonar ASW Specialist training, successfully completed two tours of training sailors in operations and tactics, and receiving six Navy Achievement Medals.
“After serving 20 years in the service, I returned to Eunice with my family. I am married to the former Laura Baker of Escondido, California. She is a registered nurse at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. My son James is a graduate of Eunice High School and is attending LSUE, and his brother Daniel completed studies at Eunice High School in his special needs class.
“While enjoying the retirement in Eunice, I attended college at LSUE in 2010. I graduated with an associate of applied science in computer information technology, and currently continue my education with Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. I am the owner of Eunice Computer Solutions in Eunice.”
