By Harlan Kirgan Editor

The Eunice city council may take action on several important items at its meeting Tuesday, but tops on the list for many is the time and date for trick-or-treat.
Trick-or-treating is to be set for 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29, Scott Fontenot, mayor pro-tem, said at Thursday’s meeting where the council sets its agenda.
The meeting is to begin at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers on the second floor of the Eunice Municipal Complex, 300 South 2nd St.
Three ordinances are on the agenda for adoption.
One ordinance authorizes the sale of the North Park Baseball Field to the St. Edmund Athletic Booster Club for $60,000.
Another ordinance is to require the inspection of mobile homes before they are moved into or within the city.
And, a third ordinance is to provide a penalty of six months in jail and a maximum fine of $500 for for several offenses from simple battery to peeping tom.
The council is also to consider a request to make Magnolia Avenue between 4th and 3rd streets one-way during the school.
