Eunice man arrested after chase in Evangeline Parish

Pursuit began near Point Blue

A Eunice man has been arrested following a Tuesday morning chase in Evangeline Parish. 

Tyler Martin Fuselier of Eunice was booked into the Evangeline Parish jail on charges speeding, reckless operation, driving under suspension, failure to register a vehicle, no motorcycle endorsement, improper lane usage, failure to signal, passing in a no passing zone and aggravated flight from an officer. 

Around 10 a.m., a deputy on patrol on the Chataignier Road near Point Blue observed a subject on a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy attempted make a traffic stop, and the driver did not stop. 

A pursuit began, and the suspect traveled north on Chataignier Road into the city limits of Ville Platte. A road block was set up at Chataignier and West Hickory streets in an attempt to the stop the suspect, but the driver passed around the road block and then turned on East Main Street driving east. The pursuit ended on the Opelousas Road near Adeuse Lane when Fuselier surrendered. 

Assistance was requested from Louisiana State Police Troop I, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office and Ville Platte Police Department during the pursuit.
