Russell Devillier has been named manager of Tri-Parish Bank’s new drive-in facility at 3rd & Laurel. He succeeds James Ardoin, who left to become president of Vernon Bank of Leesville.
St. Edmund’s Catholic School, with an enrollment of nearly 700, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Glendale Elementary has organized a Junior 4-H Club. Shirley Cannon is president.
The foundation for the VFW’s Monument to area war dead has been poured at Park & 2nd Street. Commander Bruce Miller said the seven-feet-tall,4,375-pound monument of blue granite will be dedicated Nov. 5.
Louisiana towns and cities along U.S. Hwy. 190 in Louisiana have united in calling for four-laning of the highway.
