John Anderson, a former Eunice alderman, was elected chairman of the board of trustees of Southern University.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnson’s residence on Ella Street received the Eunice Bulb & Blossom Club’s Garden of the Week recognition.
Marine Pfc. Ryan Manuel visited Central Middle School and spoke about life in the Marine Corps.
Dianne DeRouen was selected as Pink Lady of the Month by the Pink Ladies of Eunice Community Medical Center.
LSUE was ranked third in Division II in a preseason poll. The Bengals had finished third in the 2004 NJCAA World Series.
Courtney Papillion, son of Anthony and Germaine Papillion, was named student of the year at Eunice High School.
Mrs. Joyce Doucet was the parade marshal for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade.
