Eunice student named as Rucks Fellows at LSU

The Class of 2016-2017 Rucks Fellows have been announced by the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Rucks Department of Management.
They are Rhiannon Ballard of Grand Isle; Hannah Brown of Pride; Christina Davisson of Covington; Katherine Key of Pensacola, Florida; Ashton Lane of Baton Rouge; Benjamin LaPlace of Baton Rouge; Makayla McManus of Baton Rouge; Sally Robichaux of Baton Rouge; Claire Schnell of New Orleans; Krishna Surakanti of Baton Rouge; and Brent Swann of Eunice.
To qualify, a senior management major must have a grade-point average in the Top 10 of all graduating seniors in the management curriculum.
Swann is a business management major with a minor in entrepreneurship. He previously graduated from LSU Eunice with an associates transfer degree, before attending the E. J. Ourso College. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Gamma Beta Phi LSU Honors Associations and he plans attend graduate school following graduation and pursue his MBA.
Thanks to a generous gift from William W. and Catherine M. Rucks, 10 students are recognized each year as Rucks Fellows. Selected by the faculty, the Rucks Fellows represent the highest level of academic achievement among senior management majors. To enrich their development as future business leaders, these students receive opportunities not available to others, including the chance to interact with faculty and business leaders at special events, preferential enrollment in management courses, recognition during graduation and the right to identify themselves as Rucks Fellows.
The Rucks Department of Management at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business endeavors to prepare students for careers in fields such as international management, human resources and industrial/labor relations. A generous donation by LSU alumnus William W. Rucks and his wife, Catherine, has aided the department in securing faculty who are repeatedly recognized for their research and has aided student-affiliated organizations in achieving top honors nationally.
