There will be something unique at the Farmhouse at Cypress Grove and the Main House at Le Village, a Christmas open house at 150 Seale Lane, in Eunice.
A complete tour of two turn-of-the-century homes will be decked out in Christmas dress, along with a Christmas table setting, located on the neighboring properties of Cypress Grove and Le Village.
Joy Guidry, owner of FarmHouse and Chapelle Store at Cypress Grove, will promise to have a Christmas home tour at the Farm House and Le Village and all proceeds from admission will go to a local Children’s Christmas fund.
On Nov. 12 from noon until 6 p.m. and again on Nov. 13 from noon until 4 p.m., a Christmas Open House will be held along with a home tour at the FarmHouse and LeVillage. The two homes will be completely decked out in holiday dress.
There will be a $5 per person donation and children under 12 will be free.
Guidry firmly believes in giving back, and as she says, what a perfect time to do so. She added, “This is an exciting time of the year and my favorite time of the year, Christmas. I also think of those at this time of the year that have less or without. My idea of donating to children goes way back in my life.”
Guidry, the former Joy Fuselier of Eunice, comes from a family of nine. She remembers as a young girl of friends and family members giving to her family. “We were always so blessed and it always seemed at the time of need. Families and friends gave to us with no questions asked or no favors in return.”
The purpose of the tours are to give to children. As a social worker in Calcasieu Parish for the past 19 years, Guidry has invested her time, work, and love for children. “I took a year sabbatical and my husband Ted and I became owners of the FarmHouse and the Chapelle Store at Le Village in July.”
“My heart has always been with children.” said Guidry.
“The tours I think will be enjoyable and festive and will hopefully put the Spirit of Christmas in everyone’s minds that comes by,” said Guidry.
During the open house and tours, light refreshments will be served along with Christmas cheer. Many crafts, handmade jewelry, baked goods, antiques, collectibles, Tupperware, handmade quilts, Nouvelle candles, custom gift baskets, and gift certificates will be available.
The event is in conjunction with the annual Noel On the Prairie at the Old Chapelle Country Store. The hours for the prairie event will be Saturday, 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. Register for a chance to win a Free overnight stay at the Farmhouse at Cypress Grove or a 4 hour rental of the Old Chapelle Country Store for a party with up to 40 guests.
