FEMA extends transitional sheltering assistance

At the request of the state, Nov. 18 is the new checkout date for disaster survivors participating in FEMA’s Transitional Sheltering Assistance program.
FEMA will contact eligible survivors in the TSA program to notify them of their new checkout date. TSA allows eligible disaster survivors of the August severe storms and floods whose homes have been severely damaged or destroyed to stay in a hotel for a limited time.
Here are some other disaster assistance deadlines:
Oct. 31 is the deadline for Louisiana governments and certain private nonprofits to submit their Request for Public Assistance.
Nov. 14 is the deadline for homeowners and renters to apply for FEMA help.
Nov. 14 is the deadline for businesses, most private nonprofits, homeowners and renters to submit applications for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
