Mrs. Pitre has opened a restaurant in the Manuel building in which Arnold Ledoux formerly conducted his meat market. She is serving the kind of coffee which made Eunice famous.
A fire at the Mayer Hotel threatened the entire three-block downtown area efore the volunteer department got it under control. It started in frayed wiring, offiicials said.
About 1,000 students attended the first day of classes in the new Eunice High School building.
Octave Fruge is president of the new Catholic Cemetery Association.
Completion of the Eunice-Basile link of State Route No. 7 has been delayed.
Enrollment at St. Edmund’s is now more than 200 students. The building has been painted and repaired.
Farmers Warehouse and Feed has been chartered to operate in Eunice. Shareholders are J.A. Sabatier, J.H. Sabatier, E.A. Plauche and L.A. Plauche.
Lydia Bergeaux has acquired the Eunice Millinery Store. It is located next door to P.O. Guillory’s Variety Store.
