Schools, Library close as precaution

A chance of freezing rain tonight is causing school closure announcements Monday morning.
St. Landry Parish public schools are open Monday and will close Tuesday. St. Edmund Catholic School will be closed Tuesday as well as Acadia Parish schools.
Evangeline Parish public schools announced schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday.
LSU Alexandria has closed its campus Monday,
LSU Eunice will close on Tuesday. Classes will resume 8 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25. LSU Eunice students on the LSU Alexandria campus should follow LSUA’s instructions. Bengal Day events scheduled for Tuesday have been rescheduled for March 3.
Closure announcements were made in Avoyelles and Rapides parishes for closures Monday and Tuesday.
Both Opelousas and Eunice Public Library will be closed on Tuesday due to inclement weather.
The closures follow forecasts for freezing rain.
There is a 70 percent chance of rain today with a high near 39 in Eunice, the National Weather Service reports.
Monday should prove windy with north winds from 15 to 20 mph and gusting up to 25 mph.
Rain continues until midnight, then is a chance of freezing rain, the Weather Service reports. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent Monday night.
Northerly winds will continue at 10 to 15 mph and gusting up to 20 mph.
The threat of freezing rain continues until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday should be cloudy with a high near 43 and northerly winds at 5 to 10 mph. There is a 50 percent chance of rain
There is a 70 percent chance of rain Wednesday and high near 46. Northerly winds continue Wednesday at 10 mph.
Finally, the chance of rain is out of the forecast Wednesday night, but lows will remain chilly at 34.
