Gerard Caswell seeking district judgeship

Eunice attorney Gerard Caswell is a candidate for District Judge, Division B, St. Landry Parish in the Nov. 4 primary.
Caswell is a life-long resident of the Eunice area, the son of the late Elton and Gerry Caswell.
He has been married more than 34 years to Pattie Manuel Caswell, daughter of Belle Manuel and the late Dr. Sylvan J. Manuel.
He and his wife are the parents of three sons: Adam, a nuclear engineer in Nashville, Tenn.; David, employed in digital media in Baton Rouge; and Mark, a special needs child who lives at home.
Caswell is a graduate of St. Edmund’s High, LSU (B.S. in business administration) and LSU Law School, where is was chairman of the Moot Court Board, and has been a practicing attorney for more than 30 years.
He has represented the St. Landry Parish School Board for more than 23 years and the Acadia Parish School Board for more than 13 years. Caswell is also attorney for St. Landry Parish drainage districts (19 years), is a member of Hearing Committee of the La. Attorney Disciplinary Board and past attorney for the Louisiana Jaycees.
Caswell is a member of the state and parish bar associations, a past president of the St. Landry Bar and a past St. Landry assistant district attorney.
He is a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the LSU Eunice Board of Advisors.
Caswell is a member and past director of the Eunice Kiwanis Club, a past member of the Chamber of Commerce board, past member of the Eunice Right to Life board and a past president of the Eunice Jaycees.
