Man charged with rape, false imprisonment

A Eunice man is charged with hold a woman against her will and sexually assaulting her.

Police said the victim made her complaint at the police station on Sept. 27 and that Duane Ruiz, 27, of 1531 Dudley was subsequently arrested.

His bond was set Monday at $42,500.

Ruiz is charged with Domestic Abuse Battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and simple rape.

The victim told police he refused to let her leave the premises.

Where she was allegedly held against her will , her age and whether she knew the suspect was not revealed.
