St. Landry Chamber announces its banquet speaker

Ian Auzenne, a local radio broadcaster and freelance writer, will serve as this year’s master of ceremonies for the annual Chamber Banquet & Awards Program, announced Paula Martinez Mills, 2015 Chairman of the Board of the St. Landry Chamber of Commerce.
The event is scheduled for March 19 at the Evangeline Downs Event Center in Opelousas.
Auzenne, who is from Lafayette, is an on-air personality for 97.3 The Dawg. He also is a play-by-play sports announcer on both ESPN 1420 (KPEL-AM) and 96.5 KPEL-FM, calling the High School Football Game of the Week and some of UL of Lafayette’s women basketball and softball. Auzenne is the lead play-by-play voice on internet webcasts of Louisiana Ice Gators games. He also serves as the team’s sportswriter. In addition, he works behind the scenes in television, serving as the executive producer of “Good Morning Acadiana” for KATC TV.
Auzenne is involved in public access media. He is the producer and host of “124 E. MAIN,” a talk show on Lafayette’s Acadiana Open Channel.
Auzenne is a graduate of Beau Chêne High School and Princeton University
This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Pulse of St. Landry”. The banquet will also recognize a man and/or woman for their contributions, above and beyond the normal, with the Citizen of the Year Award, St. Landry Chamber Person/Business of the year and St. Landry Parish Woman of Excellence Awards. In addition, St. Landry Parish Economic Development will honor two recipients with the Community Enhancement Award and the Entrepreneurial of Excellence Award.
Tickets are priced at $30 each and must be purchased in advance.
