St. Landry Chamber plans Soirée Royale

The St. Landry Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 18th annual Soirée Royale, a culinary tasting event on Nov. 7 at the Opelousas Civic Center.
The event serves as the signature fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber President, Raquel Manuel said, “There is a reason Soirée has become a staple for the Chamber and the entire parish. Every year we invite the community of St. Landry and surrounding areas to come together for one thing we all can agree on — great food from great chefs!”
Celebrity judges from across the state award the first place winners of each category which include, Best Appetizer, Soup, Meat, Seafood, Dessert, Yam, and Best of Show. Guest are encouraged to get in on the fun by sampling dozens of dishes and voting for the acclaimed “People’s Choice Award”.
“Those who have attended Soirée Royale always come back because they know how much fun it is. First time guest are blown away by the incredible dishes our amazing chefs put together,” Manuel said in a news release.
Typically held during the first week of September, this year’s Soiree will be held in November due to the severe flooding across the state last August.
“We would never want to deter any of the recovery efforts still in effect. The Chamber’s first priority is supporting the community and our members. We want this year’s Soiree to be a celebration of our community’s resiliency and love for one another.”
