Suspected bank robber captured

The suspected robber of State Bank in Eunice was captured late Friday night in Calcasieu Parish.
Police said Selena Fontenot was taken into custody.
She is accused of entering State Bank about 4:30 p.m. Thursday, brandishing a Glock, demanding money and advising that she also had a bomb.
After getting an undisclosed amount of money, she fled, warning those in the bank that the bomb would go off if anyone moved within the next 10 minutes.
According to records, the suspect then got into a waiting vehicle and fled.
State Police bomb squad personnel were called to the scene and determined the bomb was nothing but wires, a battery and a plastic case.
Meanwhile, Eunice detectives had a feeling of dejavu.
Last year, Charles Fontenot of Eunice allegedly held up Basile State Bank on West Maple, using the same bomb modus operandi.
He was later jailed in Scott, charged with a robbery there, with charges against him for the Eunice heist still pending.
Police had a suspicion that the middle-aged, white female who fled State Bank in a red shirt and dark-colored pants, baseball cap and sunglasses could have taken her cue from Fontenot.
So they obtained a search warrant for the residence of Selena Fontenot, who has also been known, according to records, as Selena Doucet and Selena LeBlanc, and is the sister of the aforementioned Charles Fontenot.
By the time police got to the Acadia Street house, Selena Fontenot and her alleged co-conspirator, Conley Ortego, had fled. He remains at large.
A search found several items allegedly linking them to the robbery. The cash was not in the house, records show, though chicken was in the oven and beer, still cold, was open and on the floor.
