Two allegedly try to kill alleged rapist

Two men who allegedly tried to defend a female acquaintance’s honor face felony charges.
What eventually became an alleged attempted murder began with a disturbance on East Peach Street last Saturday night.
About 11 p.m., police were called to the scene where several men were milling about in the street.
Not know at the time was that an alleged rape had occurred.
Shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday, officers were alerted to an alleged shooting incident.
That was related the alleged rape. Records indicate that police believe Horace Hayes, Jr., 17, Sunrise Gardens, Apt. 5D, and Jacoby Jamon Frank, 22, of 531 Lewis went searching for the man involved in the alleged rape.
After engaging in an altercation, the target fled and, reports assert, Hayes shot at him with a handgun, apparently missing.
A few minutes later, the alleged rape victim contacted police.
An hour later, she refused treatment at Acadian Medical Center, refused a rape kit and left the hospital.
Three hours after that, about 1 p.m. Sunday, she went to the Police Station to file a rape charge, which is under investigation.
Meanwhile, the two males allegedly bent on street justice were arrested.
Hayes is charged with attempted second-degree murder and aggravated 2nd degree battery and Frank is charged with being a principle to attempted second-degree murder and with aggravated second degree battery.
