Claudia Wood

EUNICE ~ Due to an accident in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Eunice resident Claudia Wood passed away on September 29, her 77th birthday.
A lifelong musician and dedicated promoter of the Cajun culture, she never dropped the ball, was incredibly dynamic, and knew how to appreciate the new things this world has to offer without surrendering the old. Claudia recently retired from more than two decades of ranger work at the Jean Lafitte National Park and Preserve here in Eunice, her second career.
She leaves behind her sisters Lucile Rochelle and Margaret Wright, former husband Victor Wood, sons Travis and Buck and their wives, Destari and Gina, four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two granddaughters via adoption.
A mass will be held for her on Friday, October 7, at 11:00 am at St. Mathilda’s church, 800 East Laurel Avenue in Eunice.
