Mostie C. Smith

EUNICE~ It's with heavy hearts that the family of Mostie C. Smith announces her passing on Saturday, September 03, 2016 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice at the age of 93. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 3:30 pm on Monday, September 05, 2016 at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Chataignier Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Gary Mitchell officiating.
Mostie was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of the family. She was a very sweet, gentle and simple lady and she loved animals. She was always happy and positive and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her especially her brother, Charles Cortez of Opelousas; her sister, Jennie Lee Cortez Deville of Opelousas; her caretaker, Carlos Lopez of Eunice as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mayo Smith; son, Roland Smith; five brothers, John, Eugene, Dudley, Joseph and Henry Cortez; two sisters, Sue and Mae Cortez.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice on Monday, September 5th from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm.
