Verdie Louise Fontenot, died on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the age of 90 in Houma.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Interment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Darren Eldridge Celebrant.
She was a native of Eunice, Louisiana, where she retired after 30 years of service with Bell South. She took a position soon afterward with Guillory Tank in Eunice before permanently retiring.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Fontenot-Hicks (Ted) of Baton Rouge, and Cindy Fontenot Courville of Houma; 7 grandchildren, Shelly Hicks-Moran (David), Stephanie Hicks, Chris Hicks (Casey), Kyle Hicks (Stacy), Scott Courville, Chad Courville (Christine), Jennifer Courville-Theriot (Terrill); 13 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorestan and Mattie Fontenot, sister, Gussie Fontenot; brother and sister-in-law, Ixon and Grace Fontenot; and son-in-law, Herman Courville.
Visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, October 16th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, October 17 from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Robert Leger will recite a Rosary at 6:30 pm Wednesday evening.
