Bengal players hit the road for summer

The LSU Eunice baseball team has scattered nearly all over the country to play for summer league teams.
“It is great for our guys to play in these leagues across the country as they continue to develop to be the best player they can be,” LSUE head baseball coach Jeff Willis said.
“It is also a great avenue for them to venture out and be a part of a different culture that they may have not ever experienced,” the coach added. “This allows them to not only be a better ball player but also a better person.”
Hunter Feduccia (Barbe) is the starting catcher for the Acadiana CaneCutters in the Texas Collegiate League.
Feduccia is hitting .273 in 21 games with 21 hits. 10 runs scored and eight RBI.
Gavin Bourgeois (Notre Dame) is the starting centerfielder and leadoff hitter for the Derby Twins in the Jayhawk Collegiate League,
Bourgeois is hitting .304 in 21 games with nine RBI and 22 stolen bases.
Ole Miss transfer first baseman Micah McHugh and Tulane transfer outfielder Anthony Forte are both playing for the Albany Dutchman in the Perfect Game Collegiate League.
Pitcher Brent Hebert (Cypress Ranch) and Justin Barton (Caldwell Parish) are playing with the Woodland Strykers in the Texas Collegiate League, while Braxton Smith (Orangefield) is pitching for the Victoria Generals.
Hebert has pitched in five games, striking out eight and walked two over 8.1 innings.
Barton has struck out six and walked 11 in 5.2 innings of work.
Smith has a 2.53 ERA after pitching in six games so far this summer.
He has struck out 10, walked four and allowed 10 hits over 10.2 innings.
Catcher Nick Schexnayder (West Monroe) is playing for Shreveport.
Pitchers Cole Holley (East Ascension) and Hunter Joubert (Parkview Baptist) along with infielder Gabe Hannum (Zachary) are participating in the Redsticks Collegiate Baseball League.
Drew Brown (St. Edmund) is playing for the Laramie Colts in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate League.
