Bellard earns Top Player honors

Nearly 950 yards of total offense and 109 points were scored in Church Point’s 65-44 playoff win over Eleanor McMain.
James Bellard gained 201 yards on 11 carries, including a 60-yard touchdown run to help lead the Bears to their third playoff win in program history.
For his efforts, Bellard was selected as the Eunice News Player of the Week for Nov. 10-16.
Deion Monroe added 110 yards on 13 carries with three touchdowns for the Bears, while Brett Richard finished with 82 yards on two carries including a 73-yard touchdown.
Eunice quarterback Alex Richard completed 5-of-14 passes for 80 yards in the Bobcats’ 23-7 loss to Westgate in the opening round of the Class 4-A playoffs. Darious Richard contributed 61 yards on 13 carries including a 4-yard touchdown run.
LSUE’s Taylor Maricle scored 23 points to help lead the Lady Bengals to a 66-61 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Reagan Maricle scored 17 points in LSUE’s 91-84 win over Bossier City Community College.
