Ceaser grabs top player honors

Basile running back Kendrick Ceaser accounted for 241 of 310 yards of total offense to help lead the fourth-ranked Bearcats to a 58-19 win over South Cameron.

Ceaser had 186 yards on 12 carries, with a 55-yard touchdown reception. He scored on runs of 7 and 35 yards. Ceaser also scored on kickoffs of 96 and 75 yards to complete his impressive night.

For his efforts, Ceaser was selected as Eunice News Player of the Week for Oct.  6-12.

St. Edmund quarterback Drew Brown gained 178 yards on 15 carries with touchdown runs of 3 and 5 yards in the Blue Jays’ 63-34 win over Catholic High of Pointe Coupee.

Brown completed 9-of-16 passes for 107 yards with touchdown tosses to Alex Hunt (11 yards), Ross LaFleur (10 yards) and Stone LeJeune (33 yards).

Iota running back Adam Ardoin gained 142 yards on 27 carries and scored on a 9-yard run in the Bulldogs’ 34-20 loss to Iowa.

Zach LaFleur had 125 yards on 17 carries and scored on runs of 7, 3 and 46 yards in the Blue Jays’ win.

Basile quarterback Mark Ivory completed  4-of-7 passes for 107 yards in the Bearcats’ win.

Church Point running backs Deion Monroe and Trevor Breaux combined for five touchdowns on 12 carries in the  Bears’ 34-6 win over Pine Prairie. Monroe (6-50) scored on runs of 3, 24 and 21 yards, Breaux (6-48) added scores of 1 and 8 yards.

Eunice quarterback Alex Richard completed 9-of-15 passes for 83 yards with five tosses to Jerwaski Thomas (5-45) in the Bobcats’ 19-7 loss to LaGrange.
