Ivory earns top player honors

Basile quarterback directs Bearcats to come-from-behind win

Basile quarterback Mark Ivory completed 11-of-17 passes including a game winning toss with 1:20 left to lift the sixth-ranked Bearcats to a  29-22 win over St. Edmund.

Ivory threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns of 33- and 52-yards to Kendrick Ceaser in the win.

For his efforts, Ivory was selected as Eunice News Player of the Week for Sept. 15-21.

Ceaser caught four passes for 110 yards and gained 126 yards on 26 carries for the Bearcats.

Eunice High’s Darious Richard rushed for  155 yards on 14 carries to help lead the Bobcats to a 12-7 win over St. Martinville. 

St. Edmund quarterback Drew Brown gained 127 yards on 24 carries and completed 6-of-20 passes for 47 yards against Basile.

Church Point’s Deion Monroe gained 106 yards on 18 carries as the Bears grabbed a 21-20 win over Cecilia.
