$200,000 for schools

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says the Smooth Ride Home program has saved his office nearly $200,000 in maintenance costs and he is using that money for school resource officers at three high schools.

Bid OK’d for school construction

M.D. Descant of Bunkie won the bidding to build a 10-classroom building and a cafeteria at Leonville Elementary.
Architect Don D’Avy recommended the bid to the St. Landry Parish School Board’s Building, Lands and sites Committee meeting Monday.

Eunice students outperform parish test results

Eunice third- through eighth-grade students generally outperformed the St. Landry Parish district scores in the recently released Common Core tests, but fell short of the state composite scores.
