Erath man drives pickup into SUV's pather, five killed

An Erath, La. man was killed when he drove his pickup into the path of an SUV near here Saturday afternoon. He was one of five killed in the crash.
Investigators say Quentin Buford's pickup truck travelling on Highway 22 attempted to pass another vehicle when it slammed into an SUV in the opposite lane. All four occupants of the truck and the single occupant of the SUV that was struck died at the scene. The accident happened around 1:30 p.m.
Buford, 36, and passengers from Alabama: 50-year-old Robert Paul Gallet; 23-year-old Damian Lee Gallet; and 21-year-old Devan Jerica Gallet, all of Alabama.
Also killed was the SUV driver, 37-year-old Christina Robinson Deramus of Wetumpka, Ala.
