Ouachita Marine killed in Afghan action

The Department of Defense announced Monday the death a Ouachita Parish Marine who was serving in Afghanistan.
Lance Cpl. Christopher O. Grant, 20, of Richwood died Sunday while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  
Grant was assigned to 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.  
Helmand is a Taliban stronghold in southern Afghanistan.
According to the Department of Defense, 2,092 American military personnel have died in Afghanistan since 2001.
