Shawntel McKay: Allegedly threatened school staff.

Woman charged with terrorizing, cyberstalking school and staff

A Bunkie woman has been arrested by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of terrorizing and cyberstalking. The threats were made concerning Cottonport Elementary.
According to Avoyelles Sheriff Doug Anderson, Shawntell Marie McKay, 30, was arrested after a complaint was filed with the APSO by the Avoyelles Parish Superintendent of Schools Dwayne Lemoine. Lemoine filed the complaint on Wednesday afternoon and McKay was arrested later that evening.
McKay was with terrorizing and cyberstalking after she allegedly made threatening statements on Facebook concerning the Cottonport Elementary School and staff.
Allegedly, McKay also posted the photo of a semi-automatic handgun to apparently emphasize her statements. After the complaint was filed APSO deputies quickly began an investigation.
Sheriff Anderson said the situation was particularly alarming since reference was made to “being pushed too far” and “killing someone or something.”
This is the second time McKay has been arrested for making threats to Cottonport Elementary staff. Sheriff Anderson said his investigators arrested McKay on April 14, 2011 and charged her with cyberstalking after she made threats via Facebook to her child’s teacher.
