Jobless rates above those of a year ago

Tri-parish unemployment rates continue to be above those of a year ago.
St. Landry Parish’s unemployment rate in August was 9 percent, up from 8 percent in August 2015, according not-seasonally adjusted data reported by the federal Bureau of Labor statistics and released Friday.

Tri-Parish, state jobless rates on the rise from a year ago

Tri-Parish unemployment rates in July rose from a year ago with St. Landry Parish having the highest rate at 9.1 percent, up from 8.4 percent in July 2015.
Jobless rates rose as the workforce dropped in numbers.
