Mr. and Mrs. William Evans Bibb

Fontenot weds Bibb in Hill Country wedding

Cherie Claire Fontenot and William Evans Bibb were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 in the evening.
The Chapel at Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley, Texas was the setting for the Hill Country wedding. Brother Scott Johnson, Franciscan Friar, officiated the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Paula and Gary J. Fontenot of Eunice. Her maternal grandparents are Mrs. Claire Smith and the late Harry Alvin Smith of Eunice. Her paternal grandparents are the late Joyce and Etney “Kit” Fontenot of Eunice.
Mr. Bibb is the son of Bonita and Richard Sullivan of Baytown, Texas and Gina and Wallace Bibb of Clearlake, Texas. His maternal grandparents are the late Mary and Marion Evans Fricks and his paternal grandparents are Mrs. Georgia Bibb and the late William Palmer Bibb, all of Georgia.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in a Maggie Sottero gown from the Paulina collection. Beautiful embroidered floral lace appliques of ivory over light gold tulle adorned the bodice before meeting a swirling tulle and Chic organza skirt.
The gown, featuring a romantic sweetheart neckline, was accented with a Swarovski crystal encrusted belt at the waist and finished with a corset back closure. The sheer cathedral length veil was attached by Swarovski crystal pins.
Her bouquet was a perfect sphere of Juliet blush roses, Bridal Piano pink roses, Cafe’ Au Lait dahlias, and soft pink peonies. She wore a necklace featuring a diamond solitaire surrounded by a circle of diamonds given to her by her groom as a wedding gift.
Her sister, Emily Bischoff of Austin, Texas served as her matron of honor.
Bridesmaids included Lyndsey Fontenot, sister-in-law of the bride, and Anna Green, Carrie Clark, Lee Mitchell, and Leslie Tindol, all friends, all of Texas. They wore navy gowns from the Bill Levkoff collection featuring a sweetheart neckline with criss-cross pleats shaping the bodice and asymmetrical pleats and draped overskirt.
Junior bridesmaids were nieces of the bride, Emma Claire Bischoff and Annaliese Bischoff, godchild of the bride. They wore navy chiffon gowns also from the Bill Levkoff collection.
Madeline Bischoff, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. She wore a white ankle length dress featuring layers of tulle sprinkled with tiny beaded flowers and a wide sash tied in the back.
Serving as best man was Jaime Lopez of Baytown, Texas, friend of the groom.
Groomsmen included Dustin Sieber and Clay Garrison, James Morgan, Albert Gueniot, and Mark Heffner, all of Texas, all friends of the groom.
Ushers were brothers of the bride Mark Fontenot and Dr. Philip Fontenot, and brother-in-law of the bride Dr. Carl Bischoff.
Ring bearers were nephews of the bride, Wyatt Bischoff and Jett Fontenot, Jude Fontenot, and John David Fontenot, godchild of the bride.
Readers were Drs. Danielle and Philip Fontenot of Tampa, Florida, sister-in-law and brother of the bride.
The quaint chapel bathed in the evening sun was the setting for the marriage. The altar in the chapel held large arrangements of garden roses, peonies, dahlias, ranunculus, in shades of light peach, blush, hot pink, light coral and white accented with green dianthus.
After the couple exchanged vows, as the wedding bell in the tower began to toll, guests were ushered outside through the side wall of antique wood and glass doors where they were greeted by a pair of miniature donkeys bearing colorful saddle baskets of refreshing drinks.
The bride’s cake featured an exquisite five layer confection of ascending layers of blush fondant over Madagascar vanilla buttercream. It was crusted with gold beads in an hombre affect being solid at the top and gradually finishing with a sprinkling of gold beads on the bottom layer.
Embellishing the cake was hand rolled sugar confections consisting of blush garden roses, navy dahlias, and café au lait peonies cascading from the top and bottom of the cake.
Being an avid duck hunter, the groom’s cakes featured two beautiful life sized ducks, a pintail and a mallard in a marsh setting. The cakes consisted of OMG chocolate cake with chocolate fudge buttercream and rolled fondant in vivid colors of the ducks.
The reception was held outdoors under the soaring stone patio and cool crisp Hill Country sky.
Twinkling lights and candlelit chandeliers hung from the massive oaks that canopied over guest tables draped with cream and gold linens with fresh greens, flowers and candles.
A large circular iron fireplace on the stone patio was lit as well as several fire pits near the guest tables.
As the night drew to a close the newly married couple ran through an honor guard of sparklers and departed in the bed of an antique truck amid a large firework salute down the drive.
After a week long honeymoon in Saint Lucia in the Caribbean, the couple will make their home in Houston, Texas.
