Verret, DeRouen exchange vows during January ceremony

The Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Morgan City served as the setting for the evening Nuptial Mass ceremony uniting Brooke Elizabeth Verret and Lance Ferdinand DeRouen in Holy Matrimony.
The ceremony was held on Friday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. with Father Greg Fratt officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Patricia Verret of Morgan City; and the groom is the son of Jeffery and Michelle DeRouen of Eunice.
Vocalist during the ceremony was Bethanie Thibodaux accompanied by organist Lee LeBlanc. Lectors were Janice Verret and Colleen Ardoin.
Gift bearers were Leslie Harp, Cynthia Sons and Caitlin Morgan.
Ushers were Jamie Verret of Morgan City, Hafiz Tuqan of Baton Rouge, and Jacob Bellon of Duson.
The bride, given away by her father, was radiant in a slim A-line Maggie Sottero gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, beaded lace motifs across tulle, a corset back, and cap sleeves. The floor-length veil was trimmed with gold thread.
The bride carried a bouquet of fresh ivory roses accented with gold and pearl embellishments wrapped with lapis chiffon, and ivory lace. The bouquet was completed with a borrowed pearl rosary from the matron of honor.
Serving as matron of honor was Danielle Hampton Anslem of Morgan City, life-long friend of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Lindsey DeRouen of Baton Rouge, sister of the groom, Carmen Soileau of Eunice, Daisy Broussard of Pierre Part, Megan Evans of Napoleonville, Amber Cavalier of Bayou L’Ourse, Heather Andrus of Morgan City, and Jade Pelican of Eunice, all friends of the bride. Junior Bridesmaid was Braelynn Andrus of Morgan City, friend of the bride.
The bridal attendants wore floor-length sheer lapis chiffon dresses accented with a beaded sweetheart neckline. They carried bouquets of fresh ivory and light purple roses wrapped with lapis chiffon.
Flower girl was Braelyn Gustin of Eunice, daughter of Adam Gustin and Jade Pelican.
Ring bearer was Bentley Gustin of Eunice, son of Adam Gustin and Jade Pelican.
Serving as best man was Adam Gustin of Eunice, first cousin to the groom.
Groomsmen included Rex Brown of Eunice, Mark Myers of Sulphur, Beau Frey of Eunice, Kory Courville of Prairieville, Chet Savant of Baton Rouge, Jonathan Reaux of Eunice, and Michael Anslem Jr., of Morgan City, all friends of the groom. Junior groomsman was Joshua Brown of Eunice, son of the groom.
The groom wore a gray wool Vera Wang tuxedo with ivory vest and tie. The groomsmen wore gray wool Vera Wang tuxedos with lapis vest and tie.
A reception was held at NicoBella.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Key West, Florida and have made their home in Morgan City.
The bride is a graduate of Morgan City High School and Nicholls State University. She is employed with St. Mary Behavioral Health Center.
The groom is a graduate of Eunice High School and self-employed as a commercial fisherman.
