District Court fund balance has slight dip
The 27th Judicial District Court spent about $12,000 more than it received in 2012, leaving it a year-end fund balance of $1.16 million.
A report filed Sept. 16 by the Legislative Auditor’s Office noted no accounting issues in the court’s annual audit.

Jack Montoucet will lead Rice Festival parade
CROWLEY – State Rep. Jack Montoucet has been selected as the 77th International Rice Festival Grand Parade Marshal, as announced by Romona T. Credeur, festival president.
The festival is slated for the weekend of Oct. 17 through 20 in downtown Crowley.
