Mamou man sought in woman's death

The Ville Platte Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Larry Slaughter on the charge of second-degree murder.
Slaughter is being sought in the death of Latoya Richard, 29,, who was found dead in her home on High School Drive with her head in a bucket of water.
Police initially ruled Richard’s death as “suspicious” and an investigation began. Now, Ville Platte police are searching for Slaughter, whose last known address was 1317 Second St., Mamou. Police have also stated that Slaughter once lived in the residence on High School Drive where the victim was found.
