Bielstein Teacher of the Year

Alicia Guillory Bielstein is Eunice High’s Teacher of the Year. The Advanced Placement English III, English III, and English IV instructor has been teaching nine years at Eunice High School. She has also taught English I Honors and Advanced Placement English IV.
Bielstein is a 1990 graduate of Eunice High School.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Louisiana Tech University in 1995. She also graduated from the Teacher Education Program at the University of California at San Diego in 2000, and attended two College Board Advanced Placement Summer Institutes. She is certified to teach Advanced Placement Literature and Composition and Advanced Placement Language and Composition.
Bielstein has served as Varsity Cheerleading coach and sponsor for the past eight years. She also assists with Student Council, the Renaissance committee, graduation, and Senior Night. Bielstein is in charge of organizing all pep rallies.
Bielstein has been married for two years to Michael Bielstein and is the mother of a 10-month-old son, Reid.
An honor and a surprise, Bielstein did not expect, she added, “I love to teach. It is definitely a challenge at times but I enjoy watching students learn and I love the relationships I build with my students.”
“I was very touched to hear I was chosen as teacher of the year. It is very unexpected because in my eyes, there are so many great teachers here who deserve this honor.”
Principal Mitch Fontenot said, “Alicia Bielstein is certainly deserving of this honor. She represents Eunice High, staff and students with a positive attitude, smile and great teaching techniques.“
