Cold front approaching

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting drizzle and foggy conditions today and tonight, Roger Erickson
warning coordination meteorologist, National Weather Service, said.
A cold front will approach the region Wednesday, with increasing shower and thunderstorms as we approach Wednesday evening, he said. There is a chance some of these storms could be strong, with gusty winds of 45 mph, he said.
After the front passes through Wednesday evening, we will see a sharp temperature drop, Erickson said. By 3 to 6 a.m. Thursday, temperatures will be around 32 F in east Texas and central Louisiana. Any lingering rain will turn to freezing rain in east Texas and central Louisiana. Less than 0.05 inch of ice accumulation is expected. This will cause some slick spots on elevated roads and bridges in this region, but not widespread power outages.
Along the I-10 corridor of southeast Texas and southwest and south central Louisiana, temperatures will fall to the mid to upper 30s by 6 a.m. Thursday, so the light rain will stay liquid and no freezing rain is expected, he said.
