Is Eunice native next Tom Clancy?

In the wake of the death of novelist Tom Clancy, who will be the next author of adrenaline-fueled military novels that capture the world’s readers?
Perhaps Cal “Spectre” Martin will be the next Jack Ryan, jumping from the pages of C.W. Lemoine’s books into the imaginations of readers everywhere.
Lemoine, a Eunice native, has just published Spectre Rising, an aviation thriller about a former F-16 pilot whose fiancee goes missing during a routine training exercise off the coast of Florida.
During his search for answers, Cal “Spectre” Martin uncovers a deadly international conspiracy that forces him to “rise” again and face his inner demons.
Early reviews of the of debut work by the St. Edmund Class of 2001 graduate indicate it is being well-received by Clancy-genre followers.
Lemoine is the son of Clifton W. Lemoine and the late Linda Martin Lemoine.
After spending five years in the Air Force Reserve and flying nearly 1,000 hours in the F-16, including Middle East duty, he is now a Navy Reserve F/A-18A pilot at NAS JRB New Orleans. He is also a certified Survival Krav Maga instructor.
Survival Krav Maga is a program intended to give its students the skills, techniques and the ability needed to escape from almost any situation virtually unharmed (including firearms, knives and clubs).
In a email note, Lemoine said he wrote Spectre Rising “because I wanted to share my experiences from the cockpit in a thriller format.
“I never thought of myself as interesting enough or heroic enough to write an autobiography, so I opted to write fiction.  It has been a lot of fun - especially as I’ve gotten feedback from readers I’ve never even met.”
Lemoine has also produced a short E-book as a prequel for Spectre Rising called Spectre: Origins.
He said it basically takes the major characters from the book and gives a look into their lives before the events of Spectre Rising - from the snow covered mountains of Bosnia to a lone desert highway in Afghanistan.
Both works, edited by Dr. Doug Narby of the LSU at Eunice faculty, are available through amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, googleplay and kobo.
