Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Jude Mouton

Couple exchange vows during Nuptial Mass ceremony

Mary “Cescalie” DeVillier became the tiny wife of Aaron Jude Mouton on Saturday, Dec. 28 during a 7 p.m. double-ring, Nuptial Mass ceremony at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice.
As the rain clouds cleared away, a rainbow appeared over the church as wedding guests entered the church.
Fr. Cedric Sonnier, Deacon David Guillory, and transitional Deacon Matthew Bazzare, cousin of the bride, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Claude and Missie Stelly DeVillier of Eunice, and the groom is the son of Angela Mouton of Reddell and Keith and Fairlain Mouton of Crowley.
Vocalists during the ceremony were Jolayne F. Miller and Michael Sonnier accompanied by organist Connie Beaugh.
Church lectors were Kay Kay DeVillier, cousin of the bride; and Paula Y. Miller, godmother of the bride.
Ushers were Tyler Manuel and Stone LeJeune, both of Eunice, and life-long friends of the bride.
The tiny bride, Mary “Cescalie” given away by her father, was stunning in a floor-length ivory strapless petite satin sweetheart neckline gown embellished with an overlay of seeded pearls, delicate beading, vintage lace, and intricate beaded appliques. Accenting her gown, was an unique train.
The bride wore a mid-length veil embellished with scattered vintage lace.
To accent her wedding attire, the bride wore a pearl bracelet given by Mr. and Mrs. Tanny DeVillier, paternal grandparents of the bride, and a hand-made traditional garter by her godfather’s wife Tara DeVillier. She wore a blue antique pendant handed down from her maternal grandmother Myrtis Stelly and her cousin April Sharp.
Madison Cydnie DeVillier of Eunice, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor.
Bridal attendants included Katherine Deshotel of Lafayette, Brook Richard of Eunice, both friends of the bride; Katherine Martel of Eunice, cousin of the bride; Bailey Reed of Eunice, friend of the bride; and Brittany Hebert of Eunice, friend of the bride.
Honoring the bride’ parton Saint Cecilia, the bridesmaids carried silk arrangements of beautiful champagne, burgundy and lace bouquets wrapped in antique song sheets. St. Cecilia is the patron saint of music.
The maid of honor wore a strapless, lace, beaded appliqued floor-length champagne silk and tulle ball gown accented with a sweet-heart neckline.
The bridesmaids wore knee-length champagne dresses.
Serving as flower girl was Gracie Roy of Lake Charles, daughter of Scott and Alisha Roy, cousin of the bride.
Master Cooper DeVillier of Eunice, son of Phillip and Lisa DeVillier, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.
Best man was Eric Mouton of Port Barre, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Zack Gamer, Jarred Gamer, both friends of the groom, both servicemen in the US Airforce, John Richard of Crowley, friend of the groom; Chance DeVillier of Eunice, brother of the bride; and Clay Mouton of Reddell, brother of the groom.
The groom wore an off white Vintage tuxedo with a matching champagne vest and bow tie. The groomsmen wore Vintage black tuxedos with matching champagne vests and bow ties.
A reception was held at St. Thomas More social hall in Eunice where guests encountered a “step back in time” theme.
The hall was filled with antiques dated from 1920s-1930s with furnishings from Mrs. Hazel Ledoux DeVillier, and Mrs. Gladney “Mae” Manuel, paternal great-grandmothers of the bride.
In keeping with the theme of St. Cecilia’s music and champagne and lace, guest tables were decorated with antique lace doilies and romantic vintage burgundy love bird cages surrounded by paper roses of antique music sheets.
A beautiful three-tiered wedding cake with the appearance of champagne and lace sat in a backdrop of antique music sheet roses and candlesticks in brass horns. A vintage candlelit rose and crystal chandelier hung above the cake, a gift from the Mouton family to the couple.
As he did for her years at Eunice High School, Coach John McLemore gifted the bride with a wooden stage for her vintage stairway so the tiny bride could dance the night away with her average height family and friends. As traditional goes, her over 6-foot husband exchanged vows and danced most of the night with his wife on his knees.
The father-daughter traditional song, “Daddy’s Little Angel,” was sung by Mr. Clay Cormier of Arnaudville, a musician and family friend of the bride and her parents.
The couple honeymooned in a cabin near Nashville, Tenn., and have made their home in Eunice.
The bride attended Louisiana State University Eunice and plans to pursue her talents and interests in art design and photography. The couple have both taken formal classes at Louisiana State University Eunice.
She is a lifelong member of the organization Little People of America (LPA), an awareness and advocacy group for dwarfs.
The groom attended Louisiana State University Eunice and is employed at Unit Drilling.
