Baggett wins SLC player honors

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese junior guard Allison Baggett has been named Southland Conference women’s basketball player of the week as announced by the league office Monday.
The Iota native helped McNeese to a 2-0 record last week with a road won over Southeastern La. Thursday and a home victory over New Orleans on Saturday.
Baggett scored games high’s in both games with 21 points against Southeastern La. and 25 against New Orleans. Against UNO, Baggett made a career-high seven 3-pointers, ending the game with an 8 of 12 performance from the field including 7 of 10 from three-point range. Baggett averaged 2.30 ppg., shot 59.3 percent from the field, 50.0 from 3-point range and 100 percent from the free throw line last week.
The weekly honor is the second for Baggett. She was also named Player of the Week on Dec. 15.
