Acadia Parish sheriff announces several arrests

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon announced that several arrests have been made following investigations into incidents that were reported to the Sheriff’s Office.
On April 19, deputies responded to a report of theft of saddles in the 300 block of Duson Avenue, Iota. A search warrant was executed at a residence located in the 1000 block of Istre Road in Morse on April 22 and several stolen items were recovered. A warrant of arrests was issued for Roderick Benoit. He was charged with possession of stolen property.
On April 29, deputies responded to an incident in the 100 block of Dr. Parrot Avenue near Branch. Following an investigation into the incident a warrant of arrest was issued for Andreas Svendsen, 42 of the 300 block of Ozark Drive, Church Point. He was charged with violation of a protective order.
On May 28, deputies responded to a commercial burglary that was reported in the 2900 block of Des Cannes Hwy. near Basile. Following the investigation into the incident, a warrant of arrest was issued for Harley Deshotel, 20 of the 5300 block of Riverside Road, Jennings. He was charged with burglary.
On June 8, deputies responded to a report of a simple burglary in the 5100 block of the Egan Hwy. near Egan in which numerous items were taken. A warrant of arrests was issued for Rolanda Bellard, 30, of Crochet Road, Iota. He was charged with burglary.
On June 25, deputies responded to an incident in the 300 block of Vanilla Road near Crowley. Following an investigation into the incident a warrant of arrest was issued for Raylin Richard, 35, of the 800 block of Leger Road, Rayne. He was charged with four counts of violation of a protective order.
On June 29, Jeremy Brasseaux, 33 of Rayne was arrested and charged with aggravated flight from an officer. The suspect was observed exiting a residence in the Egan area. Deputies gave foot chase when the suspect fled on foot. He was placed in the Acadia Parish Jail charged with aggravated flight from an officer.
