Eunice man charged with smacking girlfriend on Valentine's Day

A 37-year-old Eunice man is accused of smacking his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day.
Kenneth Ray Guillory, 37, of 1621 West Vine, Eunice, was arrested by Eunice police Wednesday on charges of simple battery and kidnapping.
On Feb. 14 -- Valentine’s Day -- Guillory attacked his “dating partner,” Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The woman managed to escape, but Guillory left and took the woman’s child, he said.
Attempts to reach Guillory by phone to return the child were unsuccessful, Fontenot said. However, several hours later he did return the child to the mother, he said.
Guillory was already in jail on charges of disturbing the peace and criminal mischief when charged with the Valentine’s Day crimes, Fontenot said.
Guillory had been sentenced Feb. 18 to 90 days in jail on the disturbing the peace and criminal mischief charges.
