Eunice Police were out in force at Eunice High School after a note threatening violence was found in the school on Tuesday.
Principal Mitch Fontenot said, “A message written by someone on the bathroom wall, said something was happening at Eunice High Wednesday."
Fontenot alerted all students and parents via social media, and said, “Parents and students: A threat was found on campus today right at the end of the day. We are aware of this and have everything under control.
“We will have police at entrances in the morning for precaution as well as patrols during the day. Our students’ safety is our first concern.”
Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot and police officers were at Eunice High School early Wednesday morning checking every student, teacher, and staff as they arrived at school. Police used scanner devices and cell phones were collected from each student.
Eunice detectives Robert Brickley, Joey Peloquin, Stephanie Myers, Keith Jackson, reserve police officer; and Deputy Chief Richard Daigle performed extensive search methods as each Eunice High student walked through the campus’ front doors.
