Eunice police officer injured in wreck

A Eunice police patrol officer, Joey Fontenot, was injured in a traffic crash around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on West Laurel Avenue.
Fontenot was treated for fractures and released fro Acadian Medical Center, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The investigation was turned over to Louisiana State Police Troop I, he said.
The patrol officer was on a police department motorcycle heading west on West Laurel approaching Eisenhower Street when the wreck occurred, he said.
The motorcycle and a pickup truck collided as the truck made left turn, the police chief said.
