Former Mamou Police Chief Robert McGee was sentenced Thursday to one year and a day in prison for depriving an inmate at the Mamou jail of his federally protected rights.
The sentence relates to an incident where McGee used a Taser on a compliant inmate.

A Eunice man seated unrestrained in the backseat of a car was killed in a two-vehicle collision at about 6 p.m. Monday on U.S. 190 at Beck Milller Road west of Eunice, a State Police Troop I report stated.
